Dem Herbste Gleich won an ASCAP Morton Gould Award, the Juilliard School 's Palmer-Dixon Prize, and the Juillard Orchestra's Student Composers Competition.

Premiered in the spring of 1998 by Demarre McGill, Bridget Fitzgerald, and Bridget Kibbey at Paul Hall, Juilliard, New York, NY

The title is a quote from the late Mallarmé sonnet " Surgi de la croup et du bond".It was the winner of the New Juilliard Ensemble's Student Composers Award in 1999.

Cantata (1996-1997) for soprano and orchestra is a setting in three movements of Mallarmé's late sonnet " A la nue accablante tu" It was premiered in an arrangement for soprano and chamber ensemble by Kristin Hoffman (voice), Jesse Mills (violin), Nicolas Schneider (cello), Stephen Smith (guitar), and Aaron Jackson (piano) in Juilliard's Morse Hall on April 26, 1997.

premiered in its original form by Colin Jacobsen in Paul Hall on March 24, 1998. A revised version was premiered by Harumi Rhodes at her Juilliard recital in the spring of 2002, and she subsequently performed it at a concert with her quartet, The Milton Quartet (a.k.a. The Sherry Quartet) in the series New Music on North Sixth at Galapagos on November 5, 2002.This performance was reviewed by Strings magazine: "The Evening's dark horse was Ryan Streber's Sonata for Violin Solo [ sic. ], an elegant and tightly crafted piece by a gifted young composer..."
